The fat you cannot see often matters more than your weight.
The hidden fat around your organs that drives metabolic and cardiovascular risk
Body Mass Index (BMI) or weight alone cannot predict your body composition, especially visceral fat. It is hidden, dangerous fat present around your organs. Visceral adiposity or visceral adipose tissue score is the better predictor of metabolic disease. It is completely invisible on a standard scale. Waist circumference or waist to height ratio are recommended by US FDA to estimate total body fat including visceral adipose tissue.

GLP-1 RAs have transformed the management of obesity. However, emerging clinical evidence suggests that these agents may also contribute to an unintended reduction in skeletal muscle mass, potentially exacerbating or precipitating sarcopenic obesity, particularly in older or frail individuals with limited muscular reserves. So while people may reach their target weight loss, they in turn may not understand their target body composition, leading to unintended consequences. BMI or weight alone cannot help one understand their body composition.
Source: Emerging clinical evidence on GLP-1 RA and skeletal muscle outcomesSarcopenic obesity — the coexistence of excess fat and reduced muscle mass — is a growing concern with GLP-1 RA weight loss, particularly in older adults.
BMI based definition of obesity can underestimate or overestimate adiposity and risk of obesity related complications. Individuals with normal BMI but elevated central adiposity/visceral fat are often overlooked in screening for obesity - even if their risk of diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol is similar to those with BMI > 27 kg/m². Individuals with South East Asian, Chinese ethnicities are particularly at high risk of building visceral fat at low BMI. On other hand, athletes with high muscle mass and BMI > 27 kg/m² are wrongly deemed with obesity in spite of their WtHR < 0.5.

VisceFat is an AI-based tool that converts guided photo into 3D shape to estimate visceral adipose tissue, body fat and metabolic risk using waist to height ratio. Validated with published extensive datasets and meta-analyses.
About a minute in front of your camera, once a week.
Standardised pose protocol borrowed from photogrammetry — repeatable, auditable, and fast enough to do weekly.
Stand 1.5–2 metres from your camera. Front and side views. 30 seconds total.
Our model estimates visceral fat, WHtR, BMI and metabolic risk from your photos.
See your trend over time. Set scan reminders. Compare before and after.
Personalised nudges and recommendations based on your scan history and health profile.
Estimates from a photo, built on tens of thousands of DXA scans.

Ranges to guide you, not a diagnosis.
Every scan places your VAT score, body fat, and waist-to-height ratio against clinically-defined bands — not a generic population average.

Your photo is yours, and it stays that way.
Analysis runs on-device by default. If it can't complete, you're asked first — only with your explicit consent is a photo sent, encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3), analysed, and discarded immediately after metrics are returned.
On-device inference by default — no photo leaves your phone
Server fallback only after your explicit per-scan consent
If used, image bytes are deleted after the response
Only numerical metrics persist on-device
Metrics encrypted at rest (AES-256)
No model training on user images
No third-party advertising trackers

Where fat sits says more than what you weigh.
Visceral fat — the fat surrounding your organs — is strongly linked to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. It can't be seen or felt, but it can be measured.
Image-derived waist measurements compared to DEXA scans in 1,250 participants, showing computer vision can reliably estimate central adiposity without expensive medical equipment.
US FDA guidance recognises waist circumference as a validated surrogate for visceral fat in obesity research and weight management programs.
The Lancet Commission recommends moving beyond BMI to waist-based measures for accurate clinical obesity diagnosis and metabolic risk stratification.
Larger waist circumference predicts earlier death even at normal BMI. Central adiposity is a critical risk factor that BMI alone fails to capture across all demographic groups.
Built by people who have watched the scale mislead.
Still unsure why you need to track body fat? Here's what endocrinologists know that scales don't tell you.
"We built VisceFat because the existing tools — smart scales, BMI calculators — miss what actually matters clinically: where fat is distributed, not just how much there is."

15+ years studying metabolic health
People need accessible tools to track body composition. We're making research-backed analysis as easy as taking a photo. Validated against published research on VisceFat estimated body composition estimation and metabolic risk assessment.
Years in pharma taught us what matters: accurate data, privacy, and removing barriers to insight.
Democratize VisceFat estimated body composition analysis. Everyone deserves to understand their metabolic health.
Models benchmarked against published imaging studies
Careful science, plainly explained.
After a decade in pharma, we realized the tools powering billion-dollar drug trials never reached patients.
While developing treatments for obesity and diabetes at leading pharmaceutical companies, our founders saw a stark gap: the precise VisceFat estimated body composition analysis that informed clinical decisions was locked behind expensive DEXA scans and research labs.
Unlike consumer wellness apps, we built VisceFat on validated methods, transparent methodology, and peer-reviewed science.
Built with privacy and compliance at the core from day one. We maintain strict adherence to international data protection standards.
